Central Processing Technician Instructor  Central Processing Technician (CPT) Instructor Job Summary: The Central Processing Technician (CPT) Instructor is dedicated to imparting knowledge and skills to students in central processing and sterile processing techniques. This role involves a combination of comprehensive teaching methods, hands-on clinical instruction, and meticulous student assessment.  Key Responsibilities: 

  • Engaging Instruction: Deliver compelling lectures and foster interactive discussions on central processing and sterile processing subjects. Topics encompass infection control, decontamination, sterilization, and instrumentation. 
  • Practical Guidance: Provide immersive clinical and lab instruction, engaging students with medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. Oversee proper sterilization and packaging procedures for all items. 
  • Curriculum Alignment: Develop and implement well-structured lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that seamlessly align with program goals and objectives. 
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate and grade student performance, offering constructive feedback and guiding their academic and career development. 
  • Collaborative Compliance: Work closely with fellow faculty and staff to ensure program adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, contributing to the program's integrity. 
  • Professional Development: Stay up to date with evolving trends and technologies in central processing and sterile processing. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness. 
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of student attendance, grades, and advancement, enabling accurate monitoring of their journey within the program. 
Requirements: 
  • Certification and Education: Holds certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from an accredited organization.  An Associate or Bachelor degree in Central Sterile Processing or a related field is preferred. 
  • Clinical Expertise: Brings a minimum of 3 years of clinical or hospital experience as a Central Processing or Sterile Technician, contributing real-world insights to students. 
  • Teaching Proficiency: Demonstrates effective teaching experience, utilizing innovative methodologies to engage students from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Effective Communication: Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a motivating environment for student involvement. 
  • Curriculum Design: Previous experience in curriculum development and instructional design is advantageous, enhancing the creation of impactful learning experiences. 
  • Technological Acumen: Proficiently employs technology for teaching and learning, including learning management systems and instructional software. 
  • Educational Dedication: Demonstrates a deep commitment to promoting excellence in healthcare education, preparing students for successful careers in central processing and sterile processing.
