Job Description:
Overview: The Program Director for Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Abcott Institute will be responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative aspects of the Sonography program. This position requires a dynamic individual who can ensure high-quality education and training for students aspiring to become professionals in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Management:
- Develop, review, and update the curriculum to ensure it meets current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Incorporate the latest technological advancements and best practices in diagnostic medical sonography into the program.
- Faculty Management:
- Recruit, train, and evaluate faculty members to ensure a high standard of teaching and student success.
- Promote continuous professional development among faculty and staff.
- Student Affairs:
- Oversee student admissions, progress, and graduation requirements.
- Provide academic counseling and support to students.
- Foster a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Accreditation and Compliance:
- Ensure the program complies with national and regional accreditation standards.
- Prepare for and manage accreditation review processes and site visits.
- Clinical Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with clinical sites for student practicums and internships.
- Ensure clinical experiences meet educational and accreditation standards.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the program budget effectively.
- Oversee the maintenance and procurement of equipment and resources necessary for the program.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to continuously improve the program.
- Collect and analyze program data to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sonography, Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in diagnostic medical sonography.
- Prior teaching and administrative experience in a post-secondary educational setting is preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
